Everyone talks best and worst dressed after an awards show, but what about best and worst beauty? See which side of the spectrum Kate Mara and Sarah Hyland fall on below!
Emmys Beauty — Best & Worst Looks
Brett is playing “Beauty Battleship” with HollywoodLife.com!
“Direct Hit! LOVED Kate. She was smooth sailing in oh-so-subtle hair and makeup. This is how you do skin texture! Not too dewy, not too matte…the perfect satin finish. Sporting an all-too-underrated chocolate smoked eye (everyone goes for black/pewter) that makes her caramel eyes sparkle. A touch of apricot blush and lip give her eyes center stage. How many gals do you know that will slick their hair behind the ear? It’s a brave, strong, and striking look. Sometimes when everything is subtle, it pops even more! Periscope up for this look!”
Unfortunately, he wasn’t so much of a fan of Sarah.
“Near Miss! Sarah tried something…and I love that. I give a young Hollywood gal credit for doing something more fashion-y than sexy. Loved the sleek hair and statement earrings. Where she misses is in skin tone and lip color. She’s too tan. It’s a slippery slope right now as styles are transitioning away from ‘The J-Lo Glow’ into a lighter, tawnier finish on the face and body. The lip is much too dark for the deeper skin tone, giving the look a muddy feel.
Here’s how to fix it: lighten the body makeup, downplay the bronzer and go for a sheer plum lip with a touch of shine. It’s fresher and more modern. She was taking on water, but there is hope to save the ship!”
Thanks for your comments, Brett!
