The ‘Scandal’ star loves to take risks on the red carpet, and the Emmy Awards were no exception! What did you think of her feminine floral frock last night? VOTE.
Kerry Washington is always one to watch on the red carpet, and she kept things interesting when she arrived at the Nokia Theatre in LA on Sept. 22 for the 65th annual Emmy Awards. Although she didn’t take home an Emmy, she did win for her stellar style sense as she opted for an interesting Marchesa gown. Whether you love or loathe this look, there’s no denying the fact that she bravely took a chance and definitely didn’t play it safe.
Kerry Washington Emmys Dress:
The 36-year-old star opted for a romantic and feminine look for the show when she stepped out in a blush Marchesa gown, complete with a train. The frock featured an empire waist and a gold metallic lace bralet which gave way to a tulle skirt. The dress was embellished with cascading, hand-dyed ombre rose ribbon flowers and the star topped off the ensemble with a handbag, also by Marchesa. She wore her glossy locks down and didn’t overdo it with the styling, which allowed the ethereal dress to really stand out.
While some may say this look was a bit too busy, I thought she looked like a modern day princess that just stepped out of an enchanted forest. While on a younger star it could’ve seemed too sweet, Kerry’s high-fashion sense of style gave this gown exactly what it needed — she oozed glamour!
What do you think? Did you like Kerry’s dress as much as I did or do you wish she wore something more simple and chic? VOTE.
