Jeff Daniels was beyond thrilled to win the Emmy for Best Actor on Sept. 22, but what really excited us was when he admitted exclusively to HollywoodLife that he was heading to Atlanta to begin filming ‘Dumb & Dumber 2!’
It’s a super busy time for Jeff Daniels. While season two of The Newsroom just wrapped, where he portrays anchor Will McAvoy, he’s now heading back to his roots to play Harry Dunn, in what he says will be a sequel to top the original.
Jeff Daniels: ‘Dumb & Dumber’ Won’t Compare To Our Sequel
He told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that he’s making quite the transition back into that crazy character. “The intellectual free-fall from [Will] McAvoy to Harry Dunn, imagine if you will,” he said.
We followed up by asking him the scariest part of the sequel, in which he made us more excited than we’ve ever been!
“The scariest thing? There are some things that’s we’re going to do in Dumb and Dumber 2 that make the toilet scene [in the original] seem lame,” the 58-year-old actor said. How, you ask, can a scene that epic be looked act as lame?
Jeff Daniels Can’t Wait To Be Back With Jim Carrey
“Pales in comparison and I can’t divulge what, but just that they’ve topped it,” he added. He’s excited about the sequel, just like we are.
“They best thing about it? I get to work with a comedic genius,” Jeff said referencing to his costar Jim Carrey.
The original Dumb & Dumber premiered in 1994, and it will most likely come out in 2014 — a great twenty year anniversary gift for us Dumb & Dumber fans.
If you’re one of the four people who somehow haven’t seen the toilet scene he’s referencing — take a look before. Are you excited for the sequel?
