Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day, HollywoodLifers! In honor of this treasured day, we’ve rounded up some tweets from a few famous scurvy scallywags. Check them out:

“Today is international talk like a #pirate day, so why not at the same time doing a #throwbackthursday…,” French-American actor Gilles Marini tweeted, linking to a picture of himself and Johnny Depp in full pirate gear for 2007’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. How fun!

And speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean, The L Word star Marlee Matlin tweeted a pic of herself dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow — braided beard and all — on a red carpet, saying, “Okay, it’s #TalkLikeaPirateDay. How about I just dress like one?” She makes a surprisingly convincing sea captain!

Even Pee-Wee Herman showed some pirate pride, tweeting a photo of himself aboard a pirate ship with the caption: “INTERNATIONAL TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY! Ahoy Matey’s! Aaaarrrrrrrrrrr!! #TalkLikeAPirateDay”

English actor, author and comedian Stephen Fry showed off his knowledge of pirate lingo, tweeting, “A huge arse – that is to say “Avast behind” and “go down below, m’lad” it’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day:
