How sweet! The Duke of Cambridge introduced his son to a trusted old friend — his favorite childhood teddy bear! The new dad brought his security teddy, ‘Wombat,’ out of retirement to pass down to his newborn son.
There are a lot of things that Prince William will be passing down to his and Kate Middleton‘s son Prince George: his good looks, his taste in music — oh, and an entire kingdom. But the most adorable thing that the little prince is inheriting is more personal than a royal heirloom — it’s Prince Will’s childhood teddy bear!
Prince William’s Teddy Bear — Passes Down His Childhood Toy To Prince George
Before George was even born, Will and Kate spent months preparing themselves for their new addition! Their preparation included everything from painting the baby’s room and practicing installing the baby car seat — but also digging up treasures from their own childhood!
“To prepare for the baby’s arrival, Prince William dug his old toys out of the attic at their cottage at Kensington Palace, including his favorite teddy bear named ‘Wombat.'” reports TressSugar.
Little one frequently develop a bond with their childhood stuffed animals or blankies — so it’s especially cute that George is sharing a trusted security teddy with his dad.
Prince George Will ‘Follow In His Father’s Footsteps,’ Says Kate Middleton
Prince George has a great support system of hands-on parents already.
Kate revealed that she believes George will follow in his father’s footsteps, as she told attendees of the Sept.12 Tusk Awards that the two of them are still learning the ropes.
