Plus, the season eight finalist tells HollywoodLife.com what’s next for her — other than a really long nap.
Singer/songwriter Cami Bradley may not have won America’s Got Talent — she placed sixth on the Sept. 18 season finale, while dancer Kenichi Ebina secured the victory — but she tells HollywoodLife.com she’s “very proud” of how much she accomplished, and rightfully so.
Read On For My Q&A With Cami Bradley
>> Thanks for talking, Cami. I’m sure you must be exhausted after last night’s finale.
I am so tired.
>> Congratulations on making it to the final six. How do you feel about the way things turned out?
Thank you. I actually feel really good. I left on Tuesday night feeling like I gave 100 percent, and there’s nothing else I could give. I felt very proud and very excited about how the show ended for me. Obviously, I was disappointed that I was in sixth place, but I’m very happy with how the whole process went.
>> Are you fan of Kenichi?
I love him, he makes me so happy! He’s a genius; he’s so creative, and as a person, he’s just a really neat guy.
>> There’s some unfortunate controversy, where some people think he shouldn’t have won because he’s technically not an American. Your thoughts?
I disagree. I mean, America got him all the way to the end, and we all believed in him. It shouldn’t matter.
>> Yeah. I mean, America’s a cultural melting pot anyway, right?
>> So what’s next for you? I mean, besides a nap?
Oh my goodness, a nap sounds good. [Laughs.] Well, I’ve officially been asked to go on the tour, so that’s what’s directly in front of me. I’m also going home for a few days, which I’m excited about, before hitting the road Monday. … As far as opportunities go, I’m going to wait and see what doors are open and kind of take it from there.
>> Would you ever do another competition show? Maybe a singing show?
[Laughs] Probably not. This was already a huge stretch for me, to be on this show, and it was a really good experience. I don’t think I would ever mess with that and try to do it again.
>> Are you at least a little relieved to have the whole thing over now?
Oh, yes. I mean, it’s been a wonderful season, but it’s a lot of work and a lot of time and pressure and stress. It’s definitely a relief to be done, and to be able to look back on it with good memories.
