14-Year-Old Girl Abducted — Found Alive In Ga. Home Invasion
Police said that the teen was found safe on Sept. 18. Due to the girl’s young age, they have not commented on Ayvani’s condition when she was found, saying only that she is safe and with her family. Authorities are evaluating the girl’s health following this scary ordeal.
Ayvani had been missing after “two armed men pried open the family’s back door at around 2:15 a.m. ET,” according to police.
Her “mother told investigators she tried to hide her two children but the gunman found them and demanded money and jewelry,” reports HLN TV.
Teen Abducted From Suburban Atlanta Home
The “mom said she didn’t have much cash on her, the gunmen shot the dog and abducted Ayvani, who was clad in gray and blue Star Wars pajama pants and a superhero shirt,” reports NBC.
Ayvani’s 15-year-old brother was not harmed, according to police. The family dog was taken to the vet by the family following the shooting, but did not survive.
In a press conference, police revealed it remains unclear whether or not the family was targeted by the invaders or if it was random. They also explained that the two suspects in the home invasion and kidnapping have been arrested.
