Rihanna Tweets Lyrics from Drake’s ‘Nothing Was The Same’
Rihanna tweeted four lyrics from’s Drake’s new album, Nothing Was the Same, on Sept. 17. The album was supposed to be released on Sept. 24, but leaked early on Sept. 15.
From “The Language,” she tweeted, “I don’t know why they been lying, but yo shit is not that inspiring!”
From “Wu-Tang Forever,” she tweeted, “It’s yours…nobody else’s”
From “Own It,” she tweeted, “Guess whose it is”
From “Too Much,” she tweeted, “Don’t think about it too much, too much, too much, too muuuch!”
Keeping Rihanna’s romantic history with Drake in mind, what are the reasons she chose these specific lyrics to tweet?
Rihanna: Flirting Or Just Friends With Drake?
Looking at the lyrics that Rihanna chose to tweet, it’s hard to tell if she’s tweeting songs that she especially likes — or if she’s trying to send Drake a flirtatious message that she wants him to read between the lines.
Is there someone she’s thinking of with the phrase, “…yo shit is not that inspiring!” Chris Brown, perhaps?
She then repeats back the lyrics on “Wu-Tang Forever” that we thought was directed toward her in the first place, and then possibly reaffirms that thought by saying “Guess whose it is.” Then, possibly as a message to her followers and the media, her last tweet sends the clear message of “Don’t think about it too much.” Even though she might not want us to — we are!
Even if the tweets are flirtatious toward Drake, she’s also supporting him and his album by tweeting new song lyrics in the first place.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Was Rihanna trying to flirt with Drake by tweeting his lyrics, or was she just supporting his new album? Sound off!
