Ben has gotten a lot of flack from online fans ever since he was chosen as the next Batman, but one person who knows a few things about starring in Batman films has his back. Chris, who once played Robin, tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY his thoughts on Bat Affleck!
Ben Affleck is Batman in the Man of Steel sequel, and everyone is just going to have to deal with that and enjoy it. And if you are still not convinced, maybe it will take Batman’s trusty friend and sidekick Robin to sway your feelings. Because when is Robin ever wrong?
Chris O’Donnell On Ben Affleck’s Batman Role
Chris O’Donnell wasn’t shy about sharing his thoughts on Ben taking over the cowl and playing the caped crusader.
“I think it is a great move for him. Ben has had the biggest hits you can have and the biggest failures you can have and as far as I am concerned he is a made man in this business,” Chris tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “I think if you are going to go out and do a big action film, what is bigger than Batman and Superman? I think it is a terrific move.”
Even though Ben is already a superstar, Chris says playing Batman will bring him a whole new kind of celebrity.
“The exposure he will get off a Batman Superman film will be unlike anything he has ever seen in his life,” Chris says. “I mean he has had massive success and I see this as a no-lose situation — he can star in this one and direct the next one. Good move.”
We’re so glad someone is rooting for Ben!
Chris played the role of Dick Grayson/Robin in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, but he’s since retired his cape. He does have someone else in mind for the role of Robin in the new flick.
“Maybe I’ll send one of my kids to do it, as I think I may have passed my time for it,” Chris says.
Guess that leaves Chris and Justin Bieber out of the running to play Robin. After rumors swirled that Justin might be taking on the role, HollywoodLife.com found out from a source EXCLUSIVELY, “Justin Bieber will NOT be in the next Batman film, either as Robin or craft services.”
Well, at least we have our Batman, and Ben is getting some major support from his peers — and from a very special young fan.
Ben Affleck’s Son Rocks Batman Shirt — Supports Dad
Ben’s son, Samuel, was recently spotted rocking a blue Batman graphic tee in tribute to his dad’s exciting new role.
The 18-month-old cutie will probably not be alone when the Man of Steel sequel comes out in 2015, because many kids and adults will certainly show off their Bat love when all the merchandise comes out for the big movie. And we’re pretty sure that more fans will warm up to the fact that Ben is Batman in due time.
