After Lamar was arrested for driving under the influence early in the morning on Aug. 30, he has been charged with a DUI.
It’s official — two weeks after his arrest, Lamar Odom has been charged with one count of DUI on Sept. 13. Will this be a wake-up call for the troubled NBA star? Read on for more details.
Lamar Odom’s DUI Charge — License Suspended For Year After Drunk Driving Arrest
After Lamar was arrested and taken to jail on Aug. 30, he refused to take a blood alcohol test — which may have actually worked in his favor, according to TMZ. Had he submitted to the test, he could have been charged with two counts of DUI, one for driving under the influence and one for driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
The downside is, because he refused the test, Lamar’s driver’s license will be suspended for one year — which means no more cruising around Los Angeles in the Mercedes.
Police say they believe Lamar was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol. He will be arraigned on Sept. 27.
We hope Lamar’s legal troubles will force him to face the reality of his alleged addiction and help him realize he needs to check into rehab.
