Not only is the Duchess of Cambridge fond of the designer, but her Spring 2014 collection exuded the same feminine, effortless glamour that we’ve come to know and love from Jenny Packham, while infused with a ’70s vibe. Check out some of the best looks right here and let us know who you think should rock the collection on the red carpet.
My personal fashion week highlight each and every season is attending the Jenny Packham show. Sure, there’s a slew of talented designers who craft exquisite evening wear, but in my opinion no one does it quite like Jenny. The designer’s creations always have such a pretty and understated elegance about them and she really knows how to make a woman look good — and that must be why Kate Middleton is such a fan!
Jenny Packham Spring 2014 Collection:
Aside from the divine Duchess of Cambridge, Jenny is no stranger to the red carpet. In fact, she’s had everyone from Kate Winslet to Vanessa Hudgens and Helen Mirren in her creations! The fact that she dresses so many stars in a range of ages and body types proves she’s doing something right — and her Spring 2014 collection was no exception.
While Jenny’s silhouettes, exquisite detailing and beadwork have become such signatures in her collection, her Spring 2014 line also possessed some ’70s flair. Inspired by the 1975 Australian cult film Picnic at Hanging Rock, (which was set in an Edwardian boarding school), the models all rocked larger-than-life curls, (courtesy of Tresemme), while sporting high necks with pussy bows, collar embellishments, high-waisted, loose trousers, halter dresses, and rust and blush hues down the runway.
Many of the looks in the collection possessed a very vintage vibe, however, there were still hints of her signature creations throughout the line. An embellished mini in rose pink, plunging dresses, and crystal-encrusted gowns that cinched in at the waist were still present on the runway. As always with Jenny, it’s all about the details. Dresses parted in the back to show some skin while the embellishments gave the looks such an ethereal vibe.
Both Louise Roe and Christina Hendricks took in the collection from the front row, and they weren’t shy about pointing out the looks they loved. After seeing her latest line, it’s only a matter of time before these dresses make their way from the runway to the red carpet.
