The video got over 9 million views and the world thought that a girl named Daphne Avalon, was twerking and then lit herself on fire, after falling onto her glass coffee table. Are you upset that Jimmy was behind the entire thing?
Jimmy Kimmel is one heck of a prankster. The late night host, started his Sept. 9 show off, by talking about the viral video that had captivated the nation. He pretended to have Daphne Avalon, on Skype and as he spoke her, he walked over to a set that had been created off to the side of the stage. He then walked into Daphne’s “room” showing the world that the video was a total hoax!
Jimmy Kimmel Reveals He Created The Girl On Fire Video
Jimmy must be very proud of himself, because not only were news organizations trying to reach “Daphne” but even her own family was reaching out to make sure she was okay.
It turns out Daphne, is actually Caitlin Heller, a Hollywood stuntwoman, who was hired by Jimmy to create this ultimate prank.
“To the conspiracy theorists on the Internet who thought the video was fake: You were right it was fake,” he said.
Then Jimmy showed a clip of himself putting the fire out with a fire extinguisher, while also wearing a pink shirt.
“We shot the video about two months ago,” he said. “We put it up and didn’t send it to any TV station. I didn’t tweet it, we didn’t put it on any websites. We just put it up on YouTube and let the magic happen. Thank you for helping us deceive the world and hopefully put an end to twerking forever.”
