From chic and stylish separates to gorgeous gowns, we loved Christian’s feminine collection for Spring 2014 — and you can check it out right here!
Christian Siriano said he was really inspired by a recent trip to Mexico, to Isla Mujeres, the “Island of Women,” when dreaming up his Spring 2014 collection which debuted during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 7. While most have come to know and love the designer for his exquisite evening wear, it was the chic separates that really stood out in his latest collection.
Christian Siriano Spring 2014 Collection:
From shorts with a matching jacket to skirts that fell below the knee that were balanced out by crop tops, the separates were wearable, feminine, and chic. We saw everything from soft eyelet to ostrich feathers come into play in the collection while pretty floral prints and a bold black and white pattern on a raffia dress really stood out against the pinks, yellow, and whites on the runway, as did the interesting silhouettes — and the accessories were just as eye-catching as the clothing! The models looked fresh-faced, sporting high ponytails and a tangerine lip.
While a feathered gown and a floral organza dress that featured appliqué petals were some of the highlights from the designer’s evening wear, it was the separates that seemed most effortless.
Selma Blair was among the faces in the front row, looking sleek and chic in a blue leather dress while taking in the looks as they came down the runway, which was decorated with tiki huts.
Christian has a slew of celebrity fans and I think they would look great in the latest line. Lily Collins recently wore separates from the designer while promoting her movie, The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones, and given her recent affinity for crop tops I think she would love the skirts and cropped shirts in the collection. I could also see the pretty pink gowns on country crooner Carrie Underwood, who never seems to pass up a feminine and frilly red carpet moment.
