Vanessa Hudgens On ‘Marie Claire’ — Hot Makeup For October Issue

Julie explains Vanessa’s look ONLY to HollywoodLife.com:

She has amazing, big brows! She never messed up her eyebrows like most of us did when we were young! She’s probably only had experts touch them. She has a beautiful, natural brow.

It’s my specialty to help women get big brows and grow them back in. I do a full, natural brow and I have a way I teach women how to pencil in their brows.

I like Laura Mercier’s pencils or stila’s brow markers – they’re brilliant. You’re going to fill in the brow where there is no hair. Afterwards, hit the whole shape with powder to make it look realistic.

If you take your pencil or marker and you put it along your nose, line it up with your eyebrow. Make a slash — that is the starting point of your eyebrow.

How To Find Your Natural Arch

Here’s how to find your arch – smile and take your pencil in a vertical position, on the apple of your cheek, and then you line it up with the outer color of the eye (not the pupil). The arch of your eyebrow lines up with the apple of your cheek and the outer color of your eye.

When you find the arch, place an index finger above it and lift your brow up to really see your arch. When you find the top of your eyebrow, you’re going to use the pencil in a diagonal way with hair-like strokes to fill in spots with no hair.

Hair naturally grows downward (towards your temple), so when you fill in, you want to make the strokes in that same position.

Remember a pencil or marker should match eyebrow color exactly. In order for it to look consistent, it has to exactly match the hair color of the brow. The marker or pencil –- it’s a missing hair that you are filling in. If you want to lighten for a softer look, hit the whole brow with a lighter color powder at the end. It’s like a base color for hair. Match and then “highlight” with a couple shades lighter brow powder or brow gel.
