The songstress, (and face of the brand!), closed the show — what better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the label? See some of the best looks from the Spring 2014 collection and read on for more on DKNY.
The DKNY Spring 2014 collection was all about embracing individuality and celebrating the iconic brand, which debuted in NYC for Fashion Week on Sept. 8. The youthful line, which was created in 1989, stayed true to the brand and blended together everything from sporty to sexy and chic on the runway. There were a slew of looks, (everything from sheer dresses to sneakers), and so much vibrant color! From color-blocking to denim to sheer dresses and trenches, the collection made up a wardrobe for a modern girl in NYC.
DKNY Spring 2014 Collection:
Personally, my favorite parts of the latest line definitely had to be the neoprene fit-and-flare dresses. The scuba frock had a sporty feel but such a feminine and fun silhouette — I would love to take this look from day to night! It was so wearable and would be oh-so-flattering on a variety of figures.
I also really liked the cohesiveness of the entire collection. While the looks were so versatile, DKNY is about creating a lifestyle — and there was something for every occasion for the DKNY girl. There were bodysuits and blazers to sheer dresses and an LBD, to of course, clothing that showed off the DKNY logo. Models sported sleek side ponytails and rocked a bright lip.
When it comes to accessorizing, baseball caps and backpacks were back on the runway — and the shoes made a major statement. From neoprene heels that zipped up to a slew of sneakers, (think flat and wedged), and sexy, pointy-toed, ankle-strap pumps, the shoes really polished off every outfit.
Rita Ora — DKNY New York Fashion Week Runway Walk:
Rita Ora, the latest face of the brand, was surprisingly absent from the front row — but it was because she closed the show! Just when we thought model Karlie Kloss was the final one to walk on the runway, the 22-year-old songstress danced out to the Beastie Boys’ “Fight For Your Right” and fluffed up her hair in an adorable DKNY look. It was such a treat for those in attendance! Rita wasn’t the only star to turn up and take in the show. Kelly Osbourne, Bella Thorne, Alexandra Daddario, Holland Roden and Anthony Kiedis were also present.
