Just when we thought we’d heard the last of one of the world’s shortest marriages, Kris has reportedly decided to auction off the engagement ring he gave Kim during their failed love affair. Is this a smart move for Kris or is it just plain tacky?
Now that Kim Kardashian is settled down with a new man and a brand new baby, Kris Humphries is looking to get a pay day from his brief relationship with the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star. Kris reportedly made plans to hock the misbegotten bling at an upcoming Christie’s auction in New York. Read on for all the details!
Kris Humphries Selling Kim Kardashian’s Engagement Ring
Kris is reportedly planning to auction off the engagement ring he gave Kim in a upcoming Oct. 15 Christie’s auction titled “Bright & Beautiful,” Mail Online reports.
Kris has not publicly revealed that he is selling the Lorraine Schwartz ring, but a 16-carat ring matching the description of Kim’s bling popped up on the auction list at Christie’s — and a rock like that probably doesn’t come around every day!
The stunning 16.21-carat rectangular cut diamond, flanked by a 1.80-carat diamond on either side, is expected to sell for between $300,000 and $500,000 — less than a quarter of the $2 million the ring was believed to have originally cost. The ring is probably burning a hole in the NBA star’s pocket, so it might be a smart move to sell it. Would you buy it if you had some extra cash, HollywoodLifers?
Kris Humphries Was Somber & Sad When His Marriage To Kim Kardashian Ended
While America may not have taken Kris and Kim’s marriage very seriously, he was pretty upset when the divorce went down, Radar Online reports.
“On the day the divorce was finalized, Kris was somber and a bit sad,” sources tell Radar. “There was absolutely no celebration, or parties. It was the end of his marriage, and it was a reflective time for him. It didn’t surprise him that Kim carried on the way she did on the show.”
How sad! We feel sorry for Kris, but we’re sure the money he’ll pull in from selling Kim’s ring will help him feel at least a little better. Plus, we’ve found out that Kim is not getting any of the money.
“The report is true and they are working on the sale of the ring and Kim Kardashian is not getting any money from the eventual sale at all,” a source close to Kris told us exclusively.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Regardless of how the marriage ended, should Kris sell the ring or not? Sound off below!
