Tim Tebow Cut By New England Patriots

Tim Tebow Cut

Aww, poor Tim Tebow. As the New England Patriots trimmed down their roster in preparation for the NFL regular season on Aug. 31, Tim was one of the players let go by the team.

Tim Tebow can’t get any respect. It looked as though the overly-publicized quarterback had found a spot on the New England Patriots, but it was not meant to be — the team cut him on Aug. 31. So where does Tim go now?

Tim Tebow Released By The New England Patriots

Tim was officially released by the Patriots as they work to whittle down their training camp roster from about 75 players to the regular season limit of 53, according to ESPN. Apparently, the team didn’t feel Tim was worth keeping.

After it looked like Tim might not be signed by anyone this offseason, the Patriots gave him a shot, but he unfortunately struggled to find consistency on the squad. In three preseason games, he completed 11 of 30 passes for 145 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Those stats were not enough to keep a roster spot.

“It’s not just one game [that matters],” Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said on Aug. 30, “The body of work, the camp, the rate of improvement, the ability to do the things that players are going to be asked to do at their respective positions [also matters].”

Tim Tebow: Will Another Team Sign Him?

Since Tim has fewer than four years of NFL experience, Tim is subject to the league’s waiver system. He will be put on waivers, and if he is not picked up by another team, he will become a free agent, able to sign with anyone who offers him a deal.

Unfortunately, another offer may never come. After being released by the New York Jets after the 2012 season, Tim floated through free agency without fielding any offers. When the Patriots finally came in and invited him to training camp on June 10, it appeared to be Tim’s final chance to be an NFL quarterback.

Now that he’s been cut, it’s possible that Tim may have to move to the Canadian Football League, or change his position if he wants to make it in the NFL again.

I think Bill made a huge mistake. I’m a Pats fan, but I think once they have their favorates……that’s it. What happens if Brady gets hurt? In my opinion, they didn’t give him a chance. Maybe he should consider a different position. I’m so disappointed.

why is it that TT is not good enough for the NFL. the dude won a Hiesman Trophy❗
if he was a winner during College Days why was he considered a flap on NFL❓I think the college coach is to blame for TT’s misfortune. if he doesn’t throw the ball correctly, doesn’t the coach should correct him❓
