Forget the teeny-bopper tunes — 1D sent a message to the world that they were growing up when they released “Best Song Ever,” and in an EXCLUSIVE interview, a One Direction producer tells HollywoodLife.com that there’s a lot more where that came from.
One Direction is growing up, and their music is going to grow up with them. As the boys finish up work on their upcoming third album, a 1D producer reveals to HollywoodLife.com exclusively what the song’s are going to sound like! Read on for the inside details.
One Direction’s ‘Cooler’ Upcoming New Album
1D’s 2012 album, Take Me Home, definitely solidified their place among the pop star elite, but the only way to survive in the industry is to keep things fresh — and that’s exactly what Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson are doing.
“It’s a little bit more mature, and it’s rock,” the producer tells us. “And the lyrics are a little bit cooler.”
The producer says that as the guys have grown up, they’ve begun to spend much more time in the studio contributing to the songwriting process. “They’re not babies anymore!,” the producer points out.
One Direction’s New Album Details: ‘More About Who They Are’
Which should serve as a clue to the content of this upcoming album. “There’s still the party songs, but not ‘I’m falling for the girl’ party songs, more ‘I’m 20 and I’m having fun… Because I’m in One Direction,'” the producer reveals.
“They would kind of talk to us and we would ingest that and spit some ideas back out, and we’d bounce it back and forth. So there’s more about who they are on this album.”
As if this didn’t sound mind-blowing enough, the producer compares some of the album’s hard-hitting tracks to classic rock groups like Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Kiss.
