Kanye West Performs At MTV VMAs
Even though the love of his life Kim Kardashian and his baby, North, couldn’t be there to support him, Kanye still gave a spectacular performance. Aside from a large image of trees in the background, Kanye performed most of the song in complete darkness — highlighting the intensity of his rap!
Originally reported to be performing “BLKKK SKKKN Head,” Kanye tweeted a teaser to “Blood on the Leaves” with an image of the same trees from his background only minutes before he went on to perform.
Kanye West Reveals Baby North West
Kanye’s performance showed how serious he is when it comes to his music — but fans got to see a softer side of the rapper when he appeared on Kris Jenner’s talk show in an Aug. 23 interview. He gushed about how much he loves Kim and how excited he is to be a new dad before revealing a photo of little North for the first time.
He also referred to the infamous 2009 VMA incident when Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, admitting that he would never want the same thing to happen to North. “The last thing I would want to happen to my daughter is some crazy drunk black guy in a leather shirt to come up and cut her off at an awards show,” Kanye said. “That’s the last thing I’d want.”
