Three teenagers in Duncan, Oklahoma, have been arrested for killing promising baseball star Christopher, right after he visited his girlfriend. Their motive was boredom. How tragic.

Christopher Lane, 22, from Melbourne, Australia, was jogging in the small town of Duncan on August 16 when he was shot in the back and left to die in the gutter by three local teens. When questioned as to why they shot the up and coming baseball star, one teen answered, “for the fun of it.” Read on for all the shocking details.

James Edwards, 15, and Chancey Luna, 16, have been charged as adults with first-degree murder for the killing of Chris, and are being held without bond, reports CNN. Michael Jones, 17, was also charged as an accessory to first degree murder.

The boys, who had reportedly been shooting animals before they killed Chris, did it because they were bored. Both of the teens charged with murder posted incriminating pictures and messages on social media prior to the alleged murder.

James tweeted days before the shooting that he was “With my n*****s when it’s time to start taken life’s [sic].” His Facebook page is filled with pictures of him making gang signs, holding guns and wads of cash and he even has a Vimeo of him brandishing a shotgun.

The police chief Ford commented on the violence and said, “He went by a residence where these three boys were, they picked him as a target, they went out and got in a vehicle and followed him. (They) came up from behind and basically shot him in the back with a small caliber weapon, then sped away.”

Chris died at the scene, about an hour after being shot.

Afterwards, one of the boys allegedly confessed to the killing saying it had been done “for the fun of it.” The three will face first degree murder charges, which carry a potential death penalty in Oklahoma.

Chris had been visiting his girlfriend, Sarah Harper, right before he was killed. She posted an emotional tribute on Facebook,  where she write that he would always have a place in her heart:

I love you so much babe. From 2009 until forever you will always be mine and in a very special and protected place in my heart. It’s a very angry yet extremely sad time. No one deserves to die that way. Not even the boys involved. Don’t get me wrong, I want them to rot in hell, but no one should be blindly taken from the back so unexpectedly and without any reason.

This is truly tragic.

Our thoughts go out to Chris’ family, girlfriend and friends.

What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Are you shocked that the teens killed Chris because of boredom?

Live by the gun die by the gun, Christopher should have known better than to get gang affiliated, it only leads to a life of crime and will ultimately lead to his demise as occurred in this case. My heart goes out to the underprivileged African kids that were involved in this senseless crime and to their poor welfare bound parents. I hope they can find the strength to overcome this tragedy that has befallen them my a case of random tragic circumstance.

Where’s the national attention now? Why not get the whole country involved in this again like we did with Martin case? Is it because he’s white and doesn’t get all the media attention and the president involved?

Funny that MSNBC hasn’t commented on this story—-but I know why—-the 3 killers were “non white!” The “bad” Rev Sharpton would never show emotions or pity for “non whites!”
