Kendrick Lamar is STILL making waves in the hip hop world! After his controversial verse on Big Sean’s ‘Control,’ rappers are not happy and are ready to fight back.
Lupe Fiasco is the latest rapper to respond to Kendrick Lamar‘s verse in “Control,” which has caused quite the uproar in the world of hip hip. Although he didn’t get called out directly in Kendrick’s rap, he felt the need to defend some of hip hop’s greatest on his new song, “SLR 2.”
Lupe Fiasco Calls Kendrick Lamar A ‘Baby’ After Controversial Rap
On August 13, Lupe was ready to fight back! After Kendrick dissed every rapper (except Lupe) from Eminem to Drake, Lupe found it was time to defend those rappers who he’s looked up to. Below is a verse from “SLR 2″:
I ain’t competition, I don’t move sh-t. The only opposition is this new sh-t. Now we all heard what he said, but what he said means we dead. He’s so crazy, look at the little baby. N—a you ain’t Nas, n—a you ain’t Jay Z. You will respect me, you will reject me. But I’ve done so much, no matter how far you go, you will reflect me. Dinosaurs, I’m fine with all kinds of wars. Knives and swords, lions, tigers, biting boars. Lightening striking viking hordes. Fighting heightened, violence soars.
Rappers React To Kendrick’s Verse
It’s no surprise that Lupe has released a response verse to Kendrick’s. He’s not the only one!
Diddy took to Instagram to post a picture of he and Jay laughing about the song. The type on the photo reads, “And then Kendrick said, ‘I’m the King of New York,'” mocking the lyrics Kendrick rapped. Just so you’re caught up, Kendrick is actually from Compton, not NY.
Diddy captioned the photo with, “Kendrick got y’all n—as takin y’all time now! This is good ! What y’all gonna do now? Haaaaa lol lets go!”
Rapper Tyga also reacted to the verse in an interview with AXS TV’s SKEE Live, where he surprised us all with how he felt.
That sh-t’s crazy … that was hot. When you start making money, you’re touring a lot, when you’re doing a lot of things it’s hard to stay in a real creative space because you’ve got so much other stuff you’re doing outside of music.
So, what do you think HollywoodLifers? Best rap ever or do other artists have a reason to be offended?
