Wow — what a transformation! Lady Edith has morphed into a modern day bombshell and she looks absolutely stunning!
Laura Carmichael, 27, plays the fierce Lady Edith on Downton Abbey, but she made an appearance on Aug. 6 in Calif. looking very different than her role on the show. Which look do you like better? Vote!
Lady Edith’s Look
We all know Lady Edith looks trendy for the 1920s in Downton Abbey, but today — the 21st century – she wouldn’t exactly be labeled as “chic.” Her lace dress with a slightly plunging neckline compliments her short, curled locks on the series. And her hair, decorated with some small flowers, as well as her hands are often accessorized with white gloves. Trending only some red lipstick, Lady Edith often looks like she’s a woman on a mission!
Laura Carmichael’s Look
However, flash forward to nine decades in the future and we can see Laura Carmichael looks absolutely terrific!
The amazing actress made an appearance at PBS History’s Downton Abbey Season 4 Photo Call at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on Aug. 6. She looked so fashionable, as opposed to her role as the frumpy Lady Edith, in her black piano dress. The frock was the Moschino Cheap and Chic black mini that had a box pleat trim, creating “piano keys” around the hemline.
Laura opted for her hair to be mostly tied back, having only a few curls hang in the front, which created a truly exquisite and sophisticated look. Her ankle wrap black sandals were so hot and worked perfectly with the piano-themed dress. It’s so amazing to see the transformation from character to real life actress — it proves how amazing of an actress Laura truly is.
