Four acts made their way to the semi-finals while eight others said goodbye to ‘America’s Got Talent’ for good on the Aug. 7 elimination episode. Did your favorite(s) make it through?

Even though we’ve already been through three rounds of this elimination process, America’s Got Talent continues to shock us every week. Eight acts were once again sent home and four acts moved on to the semi-finals in the Aug. 7 results show. To cushion the blow, we were treated to an amazing performance of Jason Derulo‘s “The Other Side.”

Say Sayonara To Eight More Acts

The first elimination round consisted of snake wrangler David “The Cobra Kid” Weathers, the Aerosphere Aerial Balloon Show and illusionists Leon Etienne & Romy Lowe. It was no surprise that all three acts were sent packing.

Next up was the American Military Spouses Choir, brother-sister duo Brandon & Savannah, and the dog act Kelsey & Bailey. While Kelsey’s dog dancing wasn’t exactly the best act, both singing groups in this round definitely deserved a spot in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, only one could go on… and America chose American Military Spouses Choir!

No Pain, No Gain On ‘America’s Got Talent’

The following group was by far the most intense round of the results show: fan favorite Jonathan Allen, impressionist Jim Meskimen, and dance extraordinaire Kenichi Ebina. This is a tough one. All three were great in their first live performance.

Kenichi quickly moved on to the semi-finals, which wasn’t a surprise after Howie Mandel told him he should win the top prize after his incredible performance Aug. 6. So, does this mean Jonathan and Jim went home? Not so fast. Nick Cannon told the the two men to wait because one more was going through to the round. Whew!

Between Jonathan and Jim, well, we already knew the answer. America went with Jonathan.

The last group featured the Mitsi Dancing School, Deanna DellaCioppa and the Chicago Boyz. Despite her wonderful performance of “I Want To Know What Love Is,” Deanna was cut.

It was down to Mitsi Dancing School and the Chicago Boyz — and it was up to the judges to decide. While they praised the Mitsi girls for their precision and skill, the judges all went with the Chicago Boyz. (Good choice, judges. Good choice.)

Oh, and the guy from Chicago Boyz who looked like he hurt himself in his first performance at Radio City Music Hall was rushed to the hospital soon after his fall. It turns out he broke his tibia in three different places and will be cheering on his team from the sidelines. We wish him a speedy recovery!

HollywoodLifers, were YOU surprised at tonight’s eliminations? Which elimination shocked you the most? Let us know!

What a joke … If Chloe is too young (according to Stern) why was she there in the first place. Compared to the comedian ( I use the term loosely) Chloe’s act was much more impressive and much more difficult considering she is only 11 years old. So what do Mandel and Stern do, pick it apart, ” you lost your breath”, most people watching never saw that! So the public picked the comedian … only after the negative suggestive comments after her act. This comedian will not make a pimple on Jay Leno’s elbow. Stern has to go … he is unbearable as a judge and should go back to his pornographic radio show where he can say what he wants to the amusement of his “robot followers”. Your show has lost its appeal with me.

We dont wanna hear your incredibly stupid feelings. If you have a problem with how the show is made then go to AGT and cry them a river because frankly who is going to care about your emotions towards AGT. Who’s the professionals?

I had Kenichi, Deanna, Mitsi Dance & the Chicago Boys moving on. It was tough because there were 6-8 acts that were pretty good. The AMWC & Jonathan were very good so I don’t feel like they didn’t deserve their spots, but not as good as Deanna and Mitsi. The probable good news is that Deanna has shown the chops to get signed and do well regardless. Mitsi is a young troupe and has plenty of time to get there.

Why are the judges picking the #4 finalist??? If America is voting, why didn’t they let the votes decide who was staying or going? Doesn’t seem fair….. The Chicago Boyz may have been 5th when the votes were counted … but we’ll never know. Ask my opinion…. the Mitsi Dance group should have stayed.

Well that’s your own opinion. I’m not trying to be rude or mean but they’re the judges and we’re just gonna have to accept what they choose.

People are talking about the sympathy for the opera guy and chicago boys. But lets face it the real sympathy is going to the milatary wives chior.
Will they ever be a vegas show not. The judges are afraid to seem unpatriotic. But there time should have been up. Wheres the talent there are a lot of more talented chiors out there. Save the patriotism for times when it doesnt affect real talent. Plus two of the judgest dont know the concept of the show.thier afraid to see people get hurt. Wheres the risk. Hiedi and mel are on the wrong show bring back Osborne. People should vote on talent even if seen before. Think of who they might enjoy seeing. Take the booty guy and tell him to get a new song up his game. He was entertaining. I would rather see a lot pf the other than those charity wives who sang another song the same way. Would you pay? Last year talented harp guy vs circus show dog? The voice one talent country girl won. Five other way more talented. Judging should be one per person no sympathy. Good shows but stage and online voting needs to improve.

look guys. THEY’RE THE PROFESSIONALS. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING. THEY’RE DOING WHAT’S BEST FOR THEM. if you have a problem with AGT them stop watching. there are other reality shows. If they get voted off, they try harder, and they try again. so get over your emotions and just calm down.

You have to be kidding me … the Chicago boyz were good, but Mitsy’s dance school was far superior to them. I think they should just let the judges observe and let that be it. Why else are they letting America vote except for the judges to ruin it.

shut up. that’s your opinion. they’re the professionals. Look at where you’re sitting. You’re not at the AGT judges table so that implies that they know what’s better. If you have a problem with AGT go there are tell them your problem. Who’s here going to change everything just because a few people out of 7 billion other people dont like something.if the judges dont listen, cry me a river. What’s the point of letting your emotions out here if nobody’s going to do anything about it. SO GET OVER YOURSELVES.

Deanna or Jim Meskimen, the comedian should have been in the Top 4 instead of the Military Wives. They were good but not amazing. Again it was the story behind that enabled them to win

The Mitsi Dance group was by far better than the Chicago Boyz. The judges got it wrong on this choice. The girls shouldl be brought back!

I wish all acts involving snakes and sword swallowing would be eliminated.
America doesn’t have much talent this year.

well can you do an unbelievably talent involving snakes or sword swallowing? What might be junk to you may be amazing to them. Don’t say that nobody has a talent of some sort. EVERYBODY has talent. You just need to find it. And did you ever think that someone that’s going to be on or is on AGT may be reading this? And they could get nervous or scared and that could cause them to get voted off. And it would be on you. Somebody’s hopes and dreams could get crushed just because of an ignorant person and his/her stupid reply. PARTICIPATORS OR SOON TO BE PARTICIPATORS. DON’T LISTEN TO THEM. YOU ALL ARE DOING GREAT. IT’S JUST ONE PERSON’S OPINION OUT OF 7 BILLION OTHERS.

The Chicago Boyz are just a copycat of the Jesse White Tumblers and other acts that perform all the time at things like Bulls games. And those acts do what the Chicago Boyz, except much better. The Mitsi Dance Group was a lot better, but it’s a shame that stories such as a broken leg and a gay kid who was abandoned by his family seem to blind everyone. Jonathan is nowhere near as good as Branden James and Forte, and he is not really that talented.

Granted, this show chose dogs over the guy with the Earth Harp last year, so it’s not so surprising how America tends to get it wrong.

The Chicago Boys aren’t competing against the Jesse White Tumblers or other acts that perform at the Bulls games, so how is that even relevant? Yes, Mitsi Dance was great, I agree, but I don’t think the broken leg had anything to do with it. The audience has gone crazy for The Chicago Boys from their first audition. Did you hear them screaming last night? I don’t know if I would’ve picked Chicago Boys over Mitsi Dance. To me it was a tough call because both groups did a great job, but the audience was head-over-heels for the guys. I also disagree about Jonathan not being that talented. I’m not a fan of his choice of material, but IMHO he did a superb job on Impossible Dream, and again, he wasn’t competing on THIS night with either Branden James or Forte, so that’s not really relevant. All I can do is compare what he did against the other 11 acts that he competed against, and I don’t see any way that he wouldn’t end up in the top 4.

You’re totally right about the dogs over the Earth Harp guy though. I thought I might not ever watch this show again after that.

NO. you’re getting it wrong. that’s your opinion. Nobody is going to listen to you and change everything just because of an opinion, not a fact. if you have a problem with it then go to the judges and tell them your problem of how you think THEIR show should be made. It’s your opinion. It’s their show. so get over yourselves.

The Chicargo Boyz only got through because one broke his leg. The Mitsi Dancing School has so much more talent.

that’s your opinion. You may think that the mitsi girls have more talent but there’s 7 billion other people in this world. Somebody else is going to disagree with you. and when somebody else does, it ‘s going to get in a fight. I’m not choosing sides. I like both.

I can’t hardly believe that Brandon & Savannah weren’t chosen. But, as Howard said, they’ll be signed by a record label anyway…
