Love Chris, he’s a great guy. In a heartbeat, w/ less hesitation I would believe that Des quickly got over her deep love for Brooks & moved on if indeed she was torn between Brooks & Chris as she recently stated post proposal. Unfortunately, she clearly was NOT, she mentioned several times how strong her feelings for Brooks were, compared to the other 2 last standing. IMO, Des was not only untrue to herself but more so toward Chris, that is dishonest & deceitful, no way to start a relationship.

I HATED the way this season ended. There is no way a woman can be in love with one guy and then a couple of days later get engaged to someone else. BS.

Who says they had to get engaged at the end? Brooks could have said that he likes her a lot and is interested in seeing where their relationship could go, but that he wasn’t ready for marriage….they could have taken their relationship out into the “real” world to see how it would go.

That would have been a much more realistic and happy ending as far as I am concerned.

Sad farce..Brooks could have said “lets just leave the show and take off” at mid season forward, and she would have gone…she was that wrapped in him..the others never had a chance. Now in the emotional turmoil of him exiting, and her honest, on the spot, feeling she stated to Brooks at that time was probably the closest “truth” of any segment. So within a week, in paridise, she has the “awakening” that Chris is her true love…BS!

agreed. she just wants to make it work, so she’s grinning through it and trying to make lemonade. but, you know, i have to say that it seems to me that one of the most important things about a marriage is two people with similar goals being committed to making it through. it’s easy to do the lust/love/early stages, but sticking through it when things tame down- that’s the tough part. maybe these two have what it takes to go through that, being that they both just want to be married and start their family. good luck to them. marriage never seemed worth it to me, but i do envy having a partner to get old with… envy, from a distance.

It’s called being an adult. We all get our hearts broken, but the question is, when will we accept that someone is not for us and instead wake up and smell the coffee. I mean, it’s great that Brooks was honest but I wouldn’t exactly say that’s honorable. At the end of the day, he’s just looking out for himself, and there’s nothing wrong with being self-interested. For me, I thought Des came out brave. She did what any gal wishes they could do, and that is to get over someone that doesn’t deserve your love as quickly as you can. GO DES…AND GO CHRIS!

As a viewer, it actually seemed to me that Chris was always the frontrunner, and you can sense this early on on group dates. He seemed like the best friend turned-to-lover type of guy; always loyal and there for you no matter what. Oh yeah, he’s also HOT!
