‘Humor and talent’ are just a few of the characteristics Nina’s looking for in Mr. Right! Read on to find out more about the ‘Vampire Diaries’ star’s (hypothetical) dream man.
Nina Dobrev looks crazy-gorgeous on the Sept. 2013 cover of Cosmopolitan, but we’re more interested in what she reveals inside the magazine. The now-single actress — she parted amicably from co-star Ian Somerhalder in May 2013 — knows exactly what she’s looking for in her next boyfriend, and she’s not about to fall for just anyone.
“You either have chemistry or you don’t, but a lot of what attracts me is a guy’s mind and humor and talent,” she says. “I need to get to know all those things before I fall for someone. I’m not a one-night-stand kind of girl. I’m a relationship girl.”
She also shares her type with the magazine:
I’m progressive in some ways, old-fashioned in others. I like it when guys hold the door open and are sweet and thoughtful. The guys on our show are really good at that. A man in a suit looking put together and dapper is very attractive, but I also kind of like the I-just-rolled-out-of-bed, a-little-bit-of-scruff, effortless, not-trying-hard-but-still-sexy guy. If a guy spends more time looking in the mirror than I do, that’s problem!
“Dapper” in a suit, but also sexy “just-rolled-out-of-bed?” It’s no wonder Nina dated Ian! We also love that Nina gives a nod to her Vampire Diaries co-stars in that quote. Honestly, any of those guys would be a dream boyfriend.
Is Nina Leaning On Julianne Hough For Support?
Nina is often spotted out with BFF Julianne Hough, but while many people assume they’re simply friends because they both went through breakups — Julianne split from long-time boyfriend Ryan Seacrest in March 2013 — Nina says that’s not the case.
“That’s not what our friendship is about,” Nina explains. “Unfortunately, that’s how it’s perceived, but there’s more to us. People aren’t defined by their relationships. The whole point is being true to yourself and not losing yourself in relationships, whether romances or friendships.”
What a good motto to live by! Nina sounds like she’s really got herself figured out, and we love that.
