And then there were four. After another set of 12 acts competed on the July 30 episode of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ the hit show had to cut eight acts for the semi-finals. So, did your favorite(s) stay or go?

Let’s just say this — America’s Got Talent is not playing around anymore. The July 31 results show once again shocked us all. The second round of 12 acts competed July 30 for only four spots in the semi-finals and some of the eliminations left our mouths gaping. In between the shocking exits, Robin Thicke performed his sexy hit single “Blurred Lines” and country crooner Brad Paisley got super sweet with his song “I Can’t Change The World.”

Narrowing Down The Competition On ‘America’s Got Talent’

First up on the potential chopping block was synchronized swimming group Aquanuts, dance/acrobatic team Innovative Force, and hip hop dance group StruckBoyz. In a not-so-surprising reveal, Innovative Force moved on. They were, without a doubt, the best and most exciting performance of the July 30 episode.

Next was the hat trick wizard Kid the Wiz, extreme performer Brad Byers, and multimedia comedian Dave Shirley. Apparently America wasn’t a fan of any of them because all three were eliminated.

The Moment Jaws Dropped

This is when things started to get intense on America’s Got Talent. The next group of acts was country singer Marty Brown, sword swallower Alexandr Magala, and the sweet singing ingenue Ciana Pelekai. All three have had really good auditions in the past except Marty’s first live performance fell seriously flat. Both Alexandr and Ciana had terrific live performances.

This is when the nail biting starts. Who stays? Who goes? Why can’t they all stay? America decided to vote…

Marty to the semi-finals! His next performance is definitely going to have to be a redemption act for him. At this point, we are stunned. We thought for sure Alexandr or Ciana would make it through.

Three Acts Left, Only Two Spots Open

The final round of acts consisted of the operatic group Forte, comedienne Angela Hoover, and one hit wonder Tone Tha Chiefrocca. Forte is immediately sent in to the semi-finals.

With one spot left between Angela and Tone, it’s up to the judges to decide. Heidi Klum chooses Tone then Mel B goes with Angela. Howie Mandel is set on Tone and Howard Stern, even after grilling her performance, decides to go with Angela.

It is now switched back to the votes to determine who goes through. America decides to give…drumroll please…Angela another chance at $1 million!

This elimination round has been a roller coaster of emotions for us. Excuse us while we go catch our breath.

What did YOU think of the second round of eliminations, HollywoodLifers? Were you surprised? Let us know!

That’s it. Four years ago Ciana was eliminated after a great performance, and now it’s happened for the second time. I’ll never watch AGT again……………..

Marty Brown? Really? I see another Kevin Skinner “no talent” finale winner in the making. America love bad country talent.

America doesn’t have very much talent this year at least.

I live an hour away from Vegas, and the Michael Jackson experience was the best $80.00 I ever spent. I have seen Chris Angle, and for the money I would go for the magic act.

I feel the country singer and comedian should not have made it. Id never pay to see there talent in Vegas. Never. Hell I wouldnt pay to see the other two really.

I think the quality of the “talent” that the judges let through on the initial auditions is just way too low. You can just watch the act, and you know they’re not “vegas act” quality. You know they’re going to be eliminated. Take the StrukBoyz .. there was no way they were going to make it … I wouldn’t pay $100 to see them in a professional venue. Why waste America’s time with watching acts you know are going to be eliminated? Use the buzzer for acts you know are just going to be a waste of time watching. It seems that the judges have to fill a certain number of slots so the show can go for X number of weeks but for my money, I’d rather see “go nowhere acts” be eliminated from the get-go.

And then there’s kids acts. Except for maybe Jackie Evancho who really wowed us, most kid acts, although cute, don’t have any business on the show. Sure, they’re cute, but the point to this show is to headline a Vegas act. Most kids just aren’t there. It is a waste of time watching them.

Personally, if the talent pool doesn’t improve, our family probably won’t be watching the show past this year. NBC, this could be a good show. Terry Fator for example was a real gem discovered on this show. He was quality. Unfortunately, we’re not seeing it this year in most of the acts that are getting through the process.

America, let’s hear from you on this.

Agee…for the most part. When the Black gentleman from Arkansas didn’t make it, but the woman “Houdini” did, I knew they have a pre-set idea of whom they wanted. If, they truly want Americas vote, they could post, “Whom would you like come back ?” & “whom on the Final Group should of NEVER been submitted”…. IOM….they would find out America actually does have taste and knows “Talent/Ability”….the only ones so far I would pay to go see are the 3 men singing combo…$100 act…absolutely….young sword swallower (that almost died)…and Television also.

Exhausted watching the terrible country singers with their sob stories! Boo Hoo! Everyone has a story, why is it always what the country singers have to sing about it? i.e. Taylor Swift and her boy troubles! I will never, ever, ever, ever like you and your stupid juvenile songs!

I wish America’s Got Talent would do an all stars type show for people who made it to the finals or semi-finals but did’t win. Drew Stevyns from a few seasons ago was my favorite. Some of the actual winners never went anywhere so obviously they were the wrong choice.

I’m with you…let’s have the Best of the Rest…there have been people eliminated over the seasons who really should have stayed.
