Cory Monteith’s death, at the young age of 31, is still fresh in all our minds. The Glee actor died suddenly on July 13, much to the shock of family, friends, and fans everywhere. However, a fitting homage is in the works for the actor at the 2013 Primetime Emmys.
Cory Monteith Emmys Tribute — Awards Producer Planning An Homage For Glee Star
A tribute to the late actor was first announced at the Television Critics Association press tour on July 29. Emmy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich told HollywoodLife.com’s sister site Deadline that they’re planning “something that reflects an homage” for Cory, but “what the extent of that is, or how we’re going to approach it…well, it’s too early to tell.”
In addition to the usual “In Memoriam” segment at the Emmys, Ken also said that a separate tribute involving Cory and music is being discussed.
How Season 5 Of ‘Glee’ Will Handle Cory’s Death
The hit show’s season five premiere date has already been pushed back one week from Sept. 19 to Sept. 26.
We were supposed to be on in the fall with four episodes, and that’s just not going to happen. So we’re going to go on the air with two episodes and right now we’re writing the third episode, which deals with Finn’s death – which, you can imagine, is a very difficult episode to write. [It] has to be done very carefully and with a lot of taste and really making sure that it’s a tribute to Cory.
As to how exactly Glee and the Emmy’s will handle Cory’s death is yet to be seen, but we know it will be an emotional and appropriate send-off for the popular actor and his character.
HollywoodLifers, what do YOU think about Cory getting a Emmy’s tribute? What should be included in the homage? Let us know!
