Robin Thicke’s sexy lead single ‘Blurred Lines’ has swept the nation and has reached over 100 million hits on YouTube. But is the whole album worth swooning over?

Robin Thicke’s sixth studio album Blurred Lines dropped July 30 and is sure to be one of the biggest albums of the summer. After the success of his lead single, there’s no doubt this album is going to shoot straight to the top of the charts. Blurred Lines is sexy and smooth, just like Robin himself, so let’s see what the critics think about Robin’s new album!

Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ Reviews

Rolling Stone

To sharpen his attack, Thicke brings in an infantry of ride-or-die hitmakers: Will.i.am, Timbaland, Dr. Luke and, on the lewd worldwide smash “Blurred Lines,” Pharrell. Each contributes a track, but Thicke never loses control; the album is unified by his relaxed croon and warm merrymaking, which ranges from 1970s Miami funk (“Ain’t No Hat 4 That”) to cheeky impersonations of dubstep (“Give It 2 U”).

Washington Post

Thicke has always created cohesive albums that are remarkably underrated; with his sixth album being released as its title track continues on its path to world domination, Thicke may finally get the audience his songs deserve…With 11 tracks, “Blurred Lines” is tightly woven but still manages to bring different flavors, from electronic dance music to R&B anthems to between-the-sheets groove.

Associated Press

With 11 tracks, “Blurred Lines” is tightly woven but still manages to bring different flavors, from electronic dance music to R&B anthems to between-the-sheets grooves. Thicke wrote or co-wrote every track, and while he enlists Pharrell for “Blurred Lines” and has names like Dr. Luke and will.i.am as contributors, he remains the star of his own show.

Newsday

With “Blurred Lines” (Interscope), Robin Thicke out-Justins Timberlake at every turn…His old-school soul references are better. His falsetto is finer. And when he goes for the raunchy club anthems, he really goes for them…As he did with the summer smash “Blurred Lines,” this album shows that Thicke is able to take the same building blocks — soulful influences, hot producers — and come up with something way cooler and more polished than his contemporaries.
