Prince William & Kate Middleton Answers Questions After The Hospital
The royal couple were absolutely glowing as they walked down the steps in the Lindo Wing in St. Mary’s Hospital. They were greeted by cheers from well-wishers and press, and posed for photos with their new prince!
“He’s got a good pair of lungs on him, that’s for sure,” William joked. “He’s a big boy, he’s quite heavy.”
“We’re still working on a name,” the new dad added. “We’ll have that as soon as we can. It’s the first time we’ve seen him really, so we haven’t gotten a proper chance to catch up.”
The new dad said having a new baby is “very emotional.”
“It’s very emotional, it’s such a special time, I think any parent knows what this feeling feels like,” Catherine gushed. “Very special,” William added.
“I’ll remind him of his tardiness when he’s a bit older,” William joked. “I know how long you’ve all been sat out here, hopefully the hospital and you guys can all get back to normal now and we can look after him.”
So how does the little bundle of joy look?
“He’s got her looks, thankfully,” Will joked, and later added. “He’s got more hair than me.”
And when asked if Prince William is ready to change diapers, he said he already has!
“We’ve done that already,” William joked. “He’s done that already,” Kate revealed. “He’s very very good.”
Then, the couple then loaded the baby into a carseat in the hospital and drove off to their home in Kensington Palace — with William driving!
Prince William & Kate Middleton Release Statement After Baby
While the couple stayed posted up in the hospital with their bundle of joy, they released a statement to thank the gracious hospital staff at St. Mary’s for all of their hard work. On July 23, just a day after their baby was born, they wrote:
We would like to thank the staff at the Lindo Wing and the whole hospital for the tremendous care the three of us have received. We know it has been a very busy period for the hospital and we would like to thank everyone – staff, patients and visitors – for their understanding during this time.
We think they looked amazing in their matching blue, and Prince William is such a proud dad!
