Marc Anthony quickly brushed off the negative comments on Twitter and performed on the “Premios Juventud 2013” stage in Miami on July 18, days after he was bashed for singing “God Bless America” at the MLB All-Star Game on July 16.
Marc Anthony Sings ‘God Bless America’ — Singer Bashed On Twitter
While Marc, 44, sang “God Bless America” flawlessly, hitting every note with precision, Twitter users couldn’t help but complain that a man of Puerto Rican descent was singing an American anthem.
Comments like “Why the f*** is a s*** singing God Bless America?” and “Nothing like having a Mexican sing God Bless America for the #ASG what the f***…” were posted on Twitter.
More terrible tweets used racial slurs, called his performance “un-American” and questioned Marc’s citizenship.

“Let’s get this straight. I was born and raised in New York. You can’t get more New York than me. I’m more Puerto Rican than ever. I’m more New York than ever,” Marc retaliated, according to Latin Times.
And two days later, Marc was back to rocking his hips on stage in front of millions of fans on the “Premios Juventud 2013” stage in Miami. He performed “Vivir Mi Vida,” a song about moving on with life after a bad break up. It’s allegedly about his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez.
