Production has been pushed back on ‘Glee’ following Cory’s tragic death, giving the cast a crew time to grieve. Read on for more details.
‘Glee’ Season 5 Premiere Delay — Cory Monteith’s Death Postpones Production
Fox and 20th Century Fox Television made the decision to delay the start of production until early August, so the cast and crew of Glee, many of whom were very close to Cory, will have the chance to take a break and grieve their loss, according to TV Line.
Cory passed away July 13 at age 31 from a fatal combination of heroin and alcohol.
Lea Michele Leaving ‘Glee’?
Glee has always revolved around Cory and Lea’s characters, so it’s hard to imagine a series without onscreen power couple Finn and Rachel. However, a source close to the series told HollywoodLife.com exclusively:
“Lea is not leaving Glee. Everyone is going to take things lightly as the first few days back on set are going to be an emotional roller coaster. But producers are wrapping their heads around all aspects of how to move the show forward and will respect Lea’s wishes in their hopes to make the show as special moving forward as it was in the past. They are family and they will all get through it together. Being together on the show should actually be a godsend.”
While we’re happy to hear that the Glee cast will lean on each other during this devastating time, continuing the series without Cory will surely be difficult for everyone involved.
