After a coroner’s report revealed that Cory Monteith died from a fatal combination of heroin and alcohol at age 31, his girlfriend and Glee co-star, Lea Michele, released a statement through her reps on July 16. Read on to find out more details.
We told you before that Lea’s rep asked that “everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time” in a statement to HollywoodLife.com. Lea, 26, was obviously still in shock and wasn’t ready to speak about Cory’s death, but she issued a longer statement through her reps on July 16.
“Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them,” reads the statement obtained by People magazine.
“They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”
Hopefully Lea will find some comfort in grieving alongside Cory’s loved ones.
Lea is having a very tough time handling Cory’s death. We told you she hasn’t been eating, and she misses him so much she has even called his voicemail just to hear his voice.
“She [Lea Michele] is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She is devastated beyond belief.”
Lea was never shy about expressing her love for Cory, and she gushed about him in a January interview with Marie Clare.
“He makes me feel like I can do anything,” she told the mag. “For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”
Our thoughts go out to Lea and Cory’s family during this difficult time.
