Words cannot describe how sad Cory’s death is, passing away at the young age of just 31. After learning the tragic news, the producers of ‘Glee,’ and FOX, the network which produced the show over four years, released a heartfelt statement.
Cory Monteith brought a youthful energy, wit and enthusiasm to his role as Finn on FOX’s Glee, which he had starred in since 2009. Unfortunately, the 31-year-old actor was tragically taken from the world on July 13, found dead in his Vancouver hotel room. After hearing the news, FOX and the executive producers of Glee issued a statement expressing their utter shock and grief.
‘Glee’ Execs React To Cory Monteith’s Death
This heartfelt statement was posted on Glee’s Facebook page in the early morning of July 14:
We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
It’s difficult to find anything more to say, but we should follow FOX’s lead and honor Cory with the fond memories and experiences we have of him.
Cory Monteith Dies: His Close Friends Mourn
Cory’s rep confirmed that the young actor had passed away on July 13. “We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate,” the rep told People. “We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”
Cory’s death has also caused numerous reactions from stars throughout Hollywood. Both Cory’s co-stars and celebrities who were close to him took to Twitter after hearing the news about their fallen friend. At a loss for words, Cory’s Glee co-star Mark Salling could only tweet, “No.”
And Taylor Swift tweeted, “Speechless. And for the worst reason.”
Cory’s death is just awful. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his friends and family during this difficult time.
