The ‘King of Queens’ star reportedly began questioning many of the Church’s practices and wondering why the leader David Miscavige’s wife hadn’t been seen since 2006. The church reportedly put her through constant interrogations which led to her dramatic departure.

Leah Remini has broken free from the Church of Scientology. The actress reportedly left the church after being forced to undergo intense interrogation for years after she began asking questions about the leader David Miscavige‘s wife.

Leah Remini Leaves Scientology After Threatening Leader With Police

The actress had a “dramatic” break from the Church of Scientology. She was reportedly “hauled in” to be questioned after asking the whereabouts of Shelly Miscavige and threatening to call the police is she wasn’t given an answer. It turns out she was forced to “disconnect” from her family members and friends because of it.

“When you ask a question, like, ‘Where is Shelly?,’ you are immediately hauled in, interrogated and asked, ‘Why are you asking, who are you connected to, are you going on the Internet?’” a source told the New York Post. “Because Leah threatened to call the police to find Shelly, she was put through ‘Security Checking,’ her family was put through it, and her friends.”

It is alleged that Shelly hasn’t been seen since 2006, with the exception of attending her father’s funeral (but more on that later).

The former talk show host was reportedly put through “thought modification” for five years because of her constant questioning of Shelly and the church’s practices. But when they tried again this year, she said ‘no more.’

Leah released a statement about leaving the church:

“I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and fans from around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support.”

Church Of Scientology Responds To Report

The Church of Scientology has completely refuted the report over Leah’s reasons for leaving. In an official statement, they told HollywoodLife.com, “The Church respects the privacy of parishioners and has no further comment.”

There is also plenty of evidence that Shelly has not been missing after all. “She is not missing. Any reports that she is missing are false,” her lawyer told Us Weekly in 2012. “Mrs. Miscavige has been working non-stop in the Church, as she always has.”

So any stories about Leah leaving the church in relation to some mystery about Shelly Miscavige’s whereabouts are likely untrue.

It’s never easy to get out of the clutches of a cult, and that is what scientology is – a cult.

I am surprised she left, but only because she is the first celebrity I know of who left. Very glad that she broke from their “spell”, their “control”.
