Robert Pattinson — you only broke up with Kristen eight weeks ago. It’s totally normal if you still miss her or have feelings for her, even if you’re happy to be moving on.
Robert Pattinson, you were in love and deeply involved with Kristen Stewart for almost five years and no matter how much you wanted to break up with her, you probably still are harboring some feelings of affection for her.
Robert Pattinson — You Had Quite The History With Kristen Stewart
I mean, Rob, how could you not? Kristen was the love of your life until very recently.
You were madly in love with her for years. In fact, you reportedly were crushing on KStew while she still had another boyfriend, Michael Angarano, at the start of the filming of the Twilight saga.
You reportedly wooed her away from Michael, and that was the beginning of a very enduring romance that lasted throughout all the Twilight movies.
You and Kristen kept your relationship under wraps for a long time, but under the radar you were quietly building a loving romance built on your shared experience of playing Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, plus your many common interests: music, reading, acting, vintage clothing and furniture, dogs, living a low-key life, and being close to family and friends.
You two became so close you considered each other your “soul mates.” And Rob, you really seemed to like the fact that Kristen always preferred her comfortable old jeans, Converse sneakers and wearing your clothes, to dressing up in designer gowns and sporting $6,000 Hermes handbags.
Her down-to-earth personal style and lifestyle meshed perfectly with your comfortably grungy day-to-day look and relaxed demeanor.
Neither of you “went Hollywood!” In fact, you two were equally known for being totally fan-friendly on the red carpet and off.
Rob, It’s Understandable Why You Broke Up
That’s why you two did seem like you were perfectly paired. And why it was as much a shock to your fans as it was for you, when the world discovered that Kristen was cheating with her married Snow White & the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
You were naturally devastated as well as publicly embarrassed and humiliated. Who wouldn’t have been?
Although Kristen eventually won you back with her heart-felt regrets and apologies, it’s not surprising that ultimately, the cheating incident ate away at your once idyllic relationship.
“He couldn’t let it go and would always make remarks to her saying things like, ‘How do I know you are telling the truth?’ and ‘What else have you lied about?’ It just consumed him,” a source close to you revealed to HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
Rob, that’s completely understandable. Kristen was just 22 when she cheated, and you were 26. You were both very young and grappling with an emotionally devastating situation. While Kristen clearly regretted the incident deeply and loved you very much, it’s hard for ANY relationship to survive a cheating episode, especially when there’s no long-term commitment like a marriage or children to hold you together.
Moving On Is Tough, But Possible
That’s totally natural. But it’s also normal if you still have some feelings and affection for Kristen. Some mornings you may wake up with regrets and may second guess whether you’ve made the right decision in splitting up.
After all, you shared years with Kristen! You built a life together with your dogs, Bear and Bernie, your mutual friends and you became close to Kristen’s family.
Feelings don’t disappear over night — even when you are ready to end the romance and move on. Kristen, in many ways, became a habit for you — you were used to her and used to caring about her.
You knew what she liked and what she didn’t like; you understood a lot about each other.
But because of all that — it made the cheating even harder to take, because you probably wondered if the Kristen you loved was the “real” Kristen or if there was some part of her that you didn’t really know.
All of these mixed up feelings and thoughts are not going to just evaporate. They will live with you long after the final break up. So don’t be surprised if you find yourself sometimes thinking about her, wondering what she’s doing and how she’s feeling.
That’s to be expected and you shouldn’t try to deny or suppress those feelings. It will only make it harder for you to ultimately heal. You need to feel what you feel, as you move on.
No one gets over a major romance in weeks, even when they are the breakup instigator. Do you agree HollywoodLifers?
