Randy Travis Hospitalized For Complications From Heart Condition
Randy, 54, was first admitted to the hospital on July 7, after suffering from complications stemming from viral cardiomyopathy.
Viral cardiomyopathy is a weakening of the heart muscles that interferes with the heart’s ability to pump blood with sufficient force, according to Johns Hopkins. The disease can be caused by many factors, including prolonged excessive use of alcohol, but it is unclear if that is related to Randy’s condition.
This is so sad. Our thoughts go out to Randy’s friends and family during this difficult time.
