HollywoodLife.com’s sister site TVLine also learned that the premiere title is “30 Days Without an Accident,” suggesting that the show may skip ahead at least one month following the events on the season three finale, when season four premieres this October.
Immediately after the season three finale, theories about a possible time jump were confirmed.
Executive Producer Confirms Time Jump
“Every season, yes, there will more than likely be a passage of time. [The plot is] unlikely to follow directly after the end of [the finale],” executive producer Gale Anne Hurd told IGN in April.
At the end of season three, Rick welcomed the ex-Woodbury group into the prison. Furthermore, Gale said the governor will still be very present in the continuing storyline when season four begins.
