Let’s be honest here. Most of the guys on this Bachelorette are NOT into Des! You can tell by their body language. I believe they are in for the experience, free travel and appearance “fee.” They fought about the issue of the “next” Bachelor, instead of focusing on Des, the woman they wanted to win her heart. They are all in for the ride!

I think some of the good, decent men that were eliminated actually SELF-ELIMATED themselves (by acting like jerks so that Des will send them home) because they find Des plain boring and the truth is there are women out there who are a better catch than Des.

And whoever Des picks, I think that guy will not end up marrying her. I have nothing against Des – i’m sure she is a nice, sweet, lovely woman. But Des seems “superficial,” trying so hard to be “cutesey” to please a man that makes her look so “desperate” for love.

Yes good point! And they need to fabricate a WHOLE lot of drama, and play up a simple nothing into the season’s. biggest. drama. ever. EVER. just to cover the fact that a) she’s plain (nice, sweet, cute, but still… plain as the main gal!) and b) they’re not that into her!

So we’re swept away by all this drama whilst forgetting that the “purpose” of this whole “journey” was for her to find love. And not for her to watch the men bicker with each other.

A lot of it is editing. And producers do edge contestants on, encouraging them to stick to their guns on something [seemingly small], to create an effect. I think it is really unfortunate how they played up the angle on James… after episode 5 their purpose was to have America fall in love with him, and between episodes 6 and 7 their goal was to reverse that for a SHOCKING twist.

It’s sad how they manipulate certain situations, persons, and even outcomes to deliver a story.

Don’t believe me when I say that producers hold the reigns on this show? In older seasons of the bachelor the bachelor was pretty much “guided” toward the ultimate choice for him/her. So it’s not just love or about an honest connection people… it’s what sells. And who makes the call on what sells? Producers do.
