The BET Awards on June 30 totally met our high expectations! There were so many amazing moments — from Chris to Ciara to Chris Tucker — click through our gallery and see our favorites!
You know us, we love the Chris Browns and Justin Timberlakes of the music world, so obviously we were looking forward to the BET Awards on June 30. The celebration of rap, R&B and hip-hop took the meaning of entertainment to a whole new level, as the best in the business took the stage for some incredible performances and even some hilarious moments.
BET Awards: The Best Performances
Chris proved that he was the perfect choice to open the awards show. Coming on to “Fine China,” Chris was clearly in the zone and his singing and dancing skills were on full display. To make sure we didn’t get too comfortable, Chris switched it up midway, busting out “They Don’t Know,” his collaboration with passed singer Aaliyah. And if that wasn’t good enough, Nicki Minaj joined him on stage for a seriously sick duet!
Justin made sure he was not outdone though. Coming out in his full suit and tie regalia, JT set the stage on fire in his own way, paying tribute to Charlie Wilson with the help of Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, and Charlie himself. The four all-star performers ripped through some amazing songs in what was definitely the best ensemble performance of the night.
But the ladies can kill it too — case and point: Ciara. The sexy singer was on fire during her performance of “I’m Out” and “Body Party.” Showing off her ridiculously toned body in just a bra, an unbuttoned shirt, and a pair of sexy tight spandex, Ciara definitely made every man who tuned into the show drool. Seriously, all that fierce popping and locking — we don’t think we’ve ever seen a performance as sexy as that.
Chris Tucker Kills As Host At BET Awards
But maybe most surprising was how all-around fun the BET Awards were. Chris Tucker did an amazing job as the show’s host. His dig at Miguel that there would be no stage-jumping (because we all remember what happened at the Billboard Awards) was hilarious and had everyone laughing.
Throw in a few other great jokes like Chris’ impression of Michael Jackson singing 50 Cent and Rick Ross songs, and you’ve got a very successful hosting job.
It was definitely a fun night to remember. There were so many great moments it’s impossible to pick one. What was your favorite moment, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
