After Aaron was charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd on June 26, his former New England Patriots teammate Matt Light says he ‘never believed in’ anything Aaron stood for.
Aaron Hernandez, 23, was charged with the murder of semi-pro football player and friend Odin Lloyd on June 26. Following his arrest, Aaron’s former New England Patriots teammate Matt Light spoke out and certainly did not proclaim Aaron’s innocence! In fact, he admits that he never trusted him.
Matt Light: Aaron Hernandez Is Sketchy
Matt, the former offensive lineman for the Patriots, played with Aaron for two seasons, and he does not have good things to say about him.
“I never talk about other guys, but I will say I have never embraced — never believed in — anything Aaron Hernandez stood for,” Matt said to the Dayton Daily News.
This does not seem surprising. Aaron previously admitted to failing a drug test in college, and just a week ago a man filed a civil lawsuit against Aaron, claiming that the football player shot him after an argument at a strip club in Florida in February. More importantly, right now the evidence is mounting suggesting that Aaron is guilty of the charges he faces.
So far the only person who is confident in Aaron’s innocence is his mother, Terri Hernandez.
“All I can say is that he will be cleared of all these charges in the end,” she said to local outlet The Bristol Press. “Just let it play out until the end.”
New England Patriots Release Statement
Aaron was a tight end for the New England Patriots, but he was quickly released from his contract following his arrest.
The New England Patriots issued the following statement:
A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation. We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do.
Odin Lloyd’s Murder — Aaron Hernandez Arrested
Aaron was arrested at his home, one week after Odin was found dead in an industrial park a mile from Aaron’s house on June 17. Odin had been shot five times with a .45 caliber semi automatic weapon.
Prosecutors believe that Odin and Aaron were in contact just 10 hours before his death, and that Aaron had motive to kill because he no longer trusted Odin. Aaron’s girlfriend, Shayanna Jenkins, is reported to be working with the DA on the case.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do YOU agree with Matt? Do YOU think Aaron is guilty?
