In a major step towards the highly-anticipated film, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ has nabbed a director!
Sam Taylor-Johnson, best known for directing the critically-acclaimed 2009 film Nowhere Boy and being married to Anna Karenina star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, has been chosen as the director for the Fifty Shades of Grey film. So, basically, this means we are one step closer to finding our Christian Grey!
Sam Taylor-Johnson To Direct ‘Fifty Shades’ Movie
According to HollywoodLife.com’s sister site Deadline, Sam was secured as the director for the film adaptation of the best-selling erotic novels.
The producer of the film, Michael De Luca, firmly believes Sam is the perfect fit to direct Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele’s twisted love story:
Sam’s unique ability to gracefully showcase complex relationships dealing with love, emotion and sexual chemistry make her the ideal director to bring Christian and Anastasia’s relationship to life. EL James’ characters and vivid storytelling require a director who is willing to take risks and push the envelope where needed, and Sam is a natural fit.
Next Step: Find Christian Grey
I think they have a very big job a head of them casting this role. I can’t say anything other than it’s a very interesting story, and whoever plays that role is going to have a lot of fun [come] rehearsal time.
All of those sexy men are worthy suggestions to play Christian but we can’t help but think, since Sam is directing, could this mean her hot husband Aaron would consider the racy role?
What do you think about Sam Taylor-Johnson being named as the director for Fifty Shades of Grey? Who should play Christian? Let us know what you think!
