Whoa! Neil is being accused of using the n-word during a musical number with Mike Tyson on the June 9 Tony Awards. However, the ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star sets the record straight on Twitter!

Neil Patrick Harris went all out in his role as host of the Tony Awards, but he may have went a bit too far. In his opening performance, it sounded like Neil sang alongside Mike Tyson: “Is I his [n-word?].”

During his eight-minute opening number, Neil sings:

“In tandem like we planned ‘em, forgive me if it’s random but Mike Tyson had a one man show let’s give the man a hand. And make things bigger, like bigger. I’m here with Iron Mike Tyson he’s a heavyweight yo. We’re going bigger is ‘Is I his [n-word?].”

Mike didn’t seem to notice the alleged use of the word as he smiled and kept on dancing.

Watch the video at the 3:15 mark and tell us what you hear.

HollywoodLife.com reached out to Neil’s rep for comment.

UPDATE: Neil tweeted on June 10, “Really, Daily Mail?!? The N-word? That’s your story?!? I would NEVER be so disrespectful and frankly, neither should you.”

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Did Neil Patrick Harris say the n-word?

It’s interesting that the n word is absolutely forbidden these days, but it is quite O.K. to say the F word, which would have caused a sensation years ago. It is also O.K. to call someone a b–ch, apparently, or a mother-f…er (yuk!) Strange times we live in.

1. I doubt the writers of that song (NPH didn’t write it himself, did he?) would be so stupid to put this word into the song.

2. Even if they did, it would never get final approval.

3. NPH himself would never be so dumb to even ‘accidentally’ let the word slip.

4. They wouldn’t publically deny it, if he was actually on record saying it.

It is very difficult to understand the exact words, but to me it sounds like “The night just got bigger” or something like that, which fits well with the rest of the song.
