Good news, ‘Boy Meets World’ fans! The actress behind ‘Girl Meets World’s’ resident troublemaker dished to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY and revealed that there’d be plenty of callbacks to the good ol’ days.
It’s going to be awesome and interesting to see Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) navigating life as grownups, as the parents of the main character of Girl Meets World, their daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard). But it’s also going to make us miss the days of John Adams High and Chubby’s, which is why we’re thrilled about the inside info cast member Sabrina Carpenter gave to HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
‘There Will Definitely Be Flashbacks’ On ‘Girl Meets World’
“I think that there will definitely be flashbacks,” says Sabrina, who plays Maya Fox, Riley’s troublemaker best friend on the show.
Everyone involved with Girl Meets World has preached that the show will be completely separate from Boy Meets World and will not rest on the source material. But Sabrina revealed at the Actors Fund’s Looking Ahead Program 10 Year Celebration that these flashbacks will be a good way to remind the older, loyal fans of the moments they so fondly remember. “I don’t think that the new kids will get it if they haven’t watched Boy Meets World, but I think it will be for the old fans to do some flashbacks,” Sabrina says.
Sounds great! Who knows, maybe Minkus or Jonathan Turner can show up in a flashback, or maybe they’ll reference that really terrifying Halloween episode (BMW fans know which one I’m talking about).
Either way we’re so excited for Girl Meets World, especially since it sounds like it’s going to pave its own way while still keeping the original in mind.
