Sometimes being one of the hottest boy bands in the world doesn’t matter. One Direction was allegedly turned away from a swank London club for being dressed too casually!
The boys of One Direction learned the hard way that fame doesn’t always give you a free pass to the world. When the band strolled up to 5 Hertford Street, a private members-only club in Mayfair, London, without the proper clothing, it didn’t matter how famous they were — they weren’t getting in!
One Direction Banned From London Club — Not Dressed Fancy Enough
The 5 Hertford Street doorman, who turned the boys away, wasn’t going to budge. The club’s dress policy asks that guests dress “smart, with men wearing a shirt and jacket.” When the lads showed up without their shirts and jackets, the doorman had a pretty clever way to deny them:
“They’re going in one direction, and that’s away from here.”
Ouch! Hopefully they can remember those dapper outfits next time!
The Boys Of 1D Deal With Boy Band Battle Drama
If getting rejected from a London hotshot doesn’t take a hit on the boys’ egos, they’ve been dealing with other recent drama that might just do that. Andy Cohen asked The Wanted which 1D member would come out of the closest first (another ouch!) on Watch What Happens Live, and Max George called out Louis Tomlinson without hesitation.
A continuation of the ongoing British boy band feud, The Wanted then challenged One Direction to a boy band brawl just days later. While they claimed it would be a good way to raise money for charity, we know it’s really just a way for them to settle their differences once and for all!
Although the One Direction boys have faced quite a few interesting dilemmas in the last couple of weeks, they haven’t let anything get in their way and are ready to embark on their North American tour, starting June 8 in Mexico City.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should 1D have been allowed in the fancy club, even if they didn’t look the part?
