The newborn baby boy who was flushed down the toilet and heroically rescued in China on May 25 was released to his grandparents. Finally, a pleasant ending to a tragic ordeal.
The healthy baby boy, who was rescued from a sewage pipe in a Chinese apartment building, is now in the care of his maternal grandparents. The infant was taken to an undisclosed location while his mother stayed in the hospital to receive treatment.
Baby 59 Now Has A Home With Grandparents
After spending days in the hospital for injuries sustained after being flushed down a sewage pipe, the Chinese baby dubbed “Baby 59” because of the number on his incubator is in the care of his mother’s parents.
The grandparents arrived at the Pujiang hospital in the Zhejiang province and took the infant to a rural location, according to the Daily Mail.
Mother Still Under Treatment In Hospital
The 22-year-old mother, whose name is not being released, is currently in the same hospital the infant was at for treatment. The mother claims that the baby accidentally fell into the toilet and she was the first to raise an alarm about the infant being stuck in the pipe.
The woman also claimed that she feared the disgrace she would face by being a single mother after being abandoned by the baby’s father, which was a one-night-stand.
The Baby’s Miraculous Recovery
Doctors suspected the infant had a skull fracture but was stabilized over the days he spent in the hospital. During his stay, he was able to drink formula and made an incredible recovery despite the awful circumstances he was found in. Let’s hope ‘Baby 59’ gets the home and love he deserves.
