Blake has gathered a star-studded lineup to perform at ‘Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert’ on May 29, with proceeds going directly to tornado victims.
Blake Shelton Headlining Benefit Concert
On May 29, Blake will take the stage at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Tickets went on sale on May 25 and sold out within five minutes.
Blake has gathered a great lineup for the benefit concert, including wife Miranda Lambert; Voice coach Usher, Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, One Republic’s Ryan Tedder, Vince Gill and Blake’s good friend Reba McEntire.
All proceeds from the benefit will go directly to the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund. United Way will use the proceeds for recovery and rebuilding efforts in Oklahoma.
Blake & Miranda Perform ‘Over You’ For Victims
This isn’t the first performance Blake has done for the victims of his home state.
On May 21, the day after the two-mile-wide EF-4 tornado hit Moore, Okla., Blake and his wife Miranda performed “Over You,” an emotional song they co-wrote after the death of Blake’s brother.
After the episode Blake told Extra that it wasn’t easy for him and his wife:
It was rough. Luckily, Miranda happened to be in town. A lot of different producers came up to me and said do you want to do something for Oklahoma, and I said ‘Absolutely.’ I told Miranda we should just do ‘Over You,’ — that’s a perfect tribute to what a lot of people are going through. Everybody that I’m friends with and all of my family made it through, but it still hurts and it’s still home.”
