After neighbors in a Chinese apartment building heard a baby crying from a sewage pipe, firefighters discovered a newborn baby boy had been flushed down the toilet — alive — and was trapped in the pipe. Watch the heroic rescue.
Firefighters rescued an innocent newborn baby boy on May 25, who was lodged in a 4-inch sewage pipe in a Chinese apartment building after his parents allegedly flushed him down the toilet.
Baby Boy Flushed Down Toilet Alive
The infant was found after residents of an apartment building in Jinhua city, Zhejiang province, heard cries from a fourth-floor apartment bathroom, according to CNN. The frightened neighbors saw a foot inside the toilet, and called local firefighters.
Once authorities arrived on the scene, they tried to pull the baby boy out of the toilet, but with no success. So the rescuers ran to the floor below the apartment, and sawed away the section of the pipe where the baby was stuck. Unfortunately, rescuers couldn’t remove the baby from the sewage pipe, even after it was sawed off.
Baby Taken To The Hospital In Sewage Pipe
The baby was rushed to the hospital still alive and crying inside the pipe, and doctors and rescuers worked together to carefully remove the pipe to release the newborn. He stil had the placenta attached.
Miraculously, the baby boy is in stable condition, but his parents have not come forward to claim him yet, according to CNN.
The Jinhua police issued a plea on the Chinese social media site Weibo.
“Mom, come back! The baby is resilient and alive. Please show up, Mom. This is your own baby and he should return to your warm embrace soon.”
Such a bittersweet moment. What do YOU think of the rescue, HollyMoms? Isn’t is a miracle?
