Plus, should we expect to see her on ‘Glee’ next season? Carmen gives HollywoodLife.com the scoop on her latest music ventures.
Carmen Electra is officially re-entering the music business — and she isn’t coming quietly. Following the release of her 2012 single “I Like It Loud,” the iconic star is back with “Bigger D**k,” a provocative new jam that celebrates strong women. And their ‘metaphorical’ dongs.
“It’s a pretty bold way of getting my point across,” Carmen admits to HollywoodLife.com, “but after spending time in the studio with my girls, I just thought it would make for a really fun song. … And the response has been very interesting. People want to know what it means!”
Though most people know Carmen by her endless IMDB credits — she starred on Baywatch and appeared in the Scary Movie franchise, among about a million other projects – you might be surprised to learn that performing with music has always been her main passion!
“My mom was a singer in a band, my dad played guitar and my brother is a drummer,” she recalls. “There was always equipment [in our house.] Mainly, my focus in music was dance. I felt really happy, and most comfortable, when I was performing on stage.”
When she moved to Los Angeles to start her career, however, Carmen says she ended up going in a totally different direction. She did work with Prince to release a self-titled album in 1993, but this time around, she’s conquering the recording studio on her own terms.
“This time around, to be honest, it happened in a very organic way,” she says.
Is Carmen Electra ‘Glee’-bound?
But Carmen isn’t limiting herself to the studio; she’s also open to acting opportunities that showcase her many talents — including a guest-starring role on a certain hit Fox musical comedy.
“I want to be on Glee, let’s just put that out there,” Carmen says. “That would be the perfect opportunity to dance and sing and act.”
As for her dream character, Carmen says she’s “open to suggestions.” Maybe she could help Rachel Berry get in touch with her inner bad girl for an audition.
“I would love that,” Carmen says. As would we all.
