Christina will reportedly resume her place in the revolving chair this fall, says a new report. The original judge will return to ‘The Voice’ when Shakira exits at the end of this season.
The Voice is getting another makeover! Shakira joined the hit show for season four as a replacement for Christina Aguilera, but Christina is taking back her spinning chair! Christina originally left the show to promote her new album Lotus, but by the time this fall roles around she will be ready to resume mentoring on The Voice. Are you sad that Shakira will be leaving?
Christina Aguilera Takes Back Her Judging Chair From Shakira
Shakira replaced Christina for the fourth season of the show, while hip hop star Usher replaced Cee-Lo Green. For season five, HollywoodLife.com‘s sister website Deadline.com is reporting that Christina will be returning instead of Shakira.
I think this sucks! Christina was a great judge but she had three full seasons to spin around and judge people based solely on their talent, while Sharkira is just beginning. Shakira has proven this season that she is a total asset to the show with her hilarious disses against Adam Levine and Blake Shelton!
Voice producer Mark Burnett revealed why it is necessary to have constant change on the panel:
Everybody can’t coach for life because when you have people with current recording in the game, this is not their job. Their job is their fans and making music and being live, and so we knew from the beginning that this would happen, and we’ve had six coaches. They all have another life and their schedules.
Mark makes a valid point, but I would be bummed not to see Shakira return this fall.
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Who do YOU want to see judge The Voice this fall — Christina or Shakira?
