I was seriously surprised that Angie Miller was eliminated on the May 9 episode of ‘American Idol’ — I definitely thought she deserved a spot in the finale. I’ll tell you why.
Judge Randy Jackson said it best when he said that this American Idol top three was probably the best top three they’ve EVER had — but that didn’t make it any easier when we had to say goodbye to a tearful Angie Miller on the May 9 results show. In fact, 74 percent of HollywoodLifers polled said she should have moved on. Was it wrong for her to go home?
‘American Idol’ Star Angie Miller: Finale Shocker
In the May 8 show, mentor Jimmy Iovine chose “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word,” one of the best piano songs, for Angie to sing. But she didn’t play it on the piano. Because of that, Jimmy gave her a 9/10 instead of a 10/10. She still sounded amazing.
I though her three performances on May 8 were really good. Thinking back on the season, she’s had so many amazing moments on the piano, where she’s made me and the judges cry. She’s truly powerful behind the piano.
I honestly thought Kree Harrison would be eliminated before the finale. Although I love her voice as well, I do think Angie is more of a performer.
As Nicki Minaj has pointed out, Kree always seems stiff and terrified. If it was her too-high heels, she really needed to wear flats and move around the stage more. Angie was almost annoyingly confident at times, strutting her stuff around the stage in crazy high platforms. But she did connect with the audience in a way Kree did not.
It was so sad when Angie was voted off — and I can’t believe they still make them sing after being eliminated. It’s impossible!
Should Angie have been in the finale, HollywoodLifers?
